Do you need a manual Hay Corer or Sharpening of Cutters?
FeedTest is proud to announce the introduction of a new service for dairy nutrition and the CPM Model from the United States.
Through collaboration with the top rating, family-owned Wisconsin Dairyland Laboratories Inc. we are able to test pasture, hay and silage at our Werribee FeedTest Laboratory and provide a full list of Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS) results (including the latest tests for the new Version 6.5).
Testing is done by NIR (Near Infrared spectroscopy) in our Werribee laboratory, as per normal FeedTest standard processes so results are returned rapidly. Results are available by email in pdf report format or in Excel for direct import into nutrition software packages such AMTS or NDS.
“So, don’t hesitate to contact FeedTest to take advantage of our new service and lift your Fodder Operation”
Test Summary:
A major advantage of our service and collaboration with Dairyland Laboratories is that you can now get the Dairyland results on existing FeedTest reports.
If you buy fodder on a FeedTest report you can provide the FeedTest Report number and we can issue the Dairyland results for your nutrition program often before you take delivery of the fodder. No extra samples or delay in testing is incurred and the cost is $34.10 (GST Included).

NIR TEST PACKAGES:
All NIR packages include: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, acid detergent fibre, neutral detergent fibre, dry matter digestibility, dry organic matter digestibility, metabolisable energy (ruminant), fat & ash.
Horse DE, Rabbit DE, TDN, RFV & nitrogen % can be applied to any NIR package at no extra charge.
NIR Fodder Package includes: Fresh pasture, grass, legume or pasture hay and silages. WSC can be added to this analysis, if requested.
NIR Pellet Package includes: pellets, feed mixes, lentils, lupins, beans, peas, maize, sorghum, chickpeas & vetch.
NIR Cereal WSC Package includes: all cereal hay types. WSC are included in this package.
NIR Cereal Grain Package includes: wheat, barley, triticale & oats. Starch & sugar results are also included. Pure cereal grain mixes (e.g. 50% wheat, 50% barley) can also be measured in this package.
NIR Maize Silage Package includes: maize silage & fresh cut maize. Starch & sugar results are also included.
CNCPS Dairyland Package (NIR) includes: hay, pasture and silage.
AusScan Package (NIR) available for wheat, barley, triticale, sorghum, soya bean meal & canola.
NIR Transition Package
For dairy fodder to assess NIR plus 7 minerals – Ca, Mg, P, Na, K, S & Cl. DCAD included. Any standard NIR package above can use this package.
Non-NIR Packages (Ruminants) - Wet Chemistry Analysis
These packages apply to all feed samples for which NIR calibrations are not available. Generally unusual mixed feed rations, DDG, by-products, almond hulls, meals, soya bean, brewer’s grain, molasses, canola seed & meal etc.
For samples with an estimated fat <2%, we recommend Option 1 or 3.
For samples, with an estimated fat >2%, we recommend Option 2, 4 or 5.
1. Non-NIR Feed Package includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, dry matter digestibility, dry organic matter digestibility, metabolisable energy (ruminants) & ash.
2. Non-NIR + Fat Package: as per option 1 + fat
3. Non-NIR + AN Package: as per option 1 plus acid detergent & neutral detergent fibre
4. Non-NIR + ANF Package: as per option 3, plus fat
5. Non-NIR + ANFSS Package: as per option 4, plus starch & sugar
Other Feed Energy Packages
Pig Digestible Energy (DE) includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat, ash, crude fibre, nitrogen free extractives & pig digestibility.
Poultry Metabolisable Energy (ME) includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat, starch, sugar & poultry energy.
AusMeat Metabolisable Energy (ME)
The AusMeat accreditation is for supply into the EU. Feed lot rations must meet minimum levels of ME when tested with a particular method. It includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat, ash, nitrogen free extractives & metabolisable energy.
Atwater Metabolisable Energy (ME)
The Atwater formula is used to predict ME for monogastric animals including dogs & cats. It includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat, ash, crude fibre, nitrogen free extractives & Atwater metabolisable energy.
MAFF Metabolisable Energy (ME)
MAFF formula was developed by the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry in England to predict ME for ruminant animals. It includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat, ash and crude fibre, nitrogen free extractives & MAFF energy.
Energy for Ruminant, Pig & Poultry
This package was designed to incorporate the most common farm animals. It includes: dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat, ash, crude fibre, digestibility, acid detergent fibre, neutral detergent fibre, starch, sugar, nitrogen free extractives, ruminant ME, pig DE & poultry ME.

Reports are faxed/emailed and a printed copy posted to our to clients.
All samples are assigned a laboratory number upon receival. This appears next to “work order” at the top right hand corner of your report along with the date the sample was received and the date of the report.
The “work ID” refers to the name the client has allocated to the sample. ie. A paddock name or buyers name. The report will also denote who submitted the sample and the date it was collected.
Unless otherwise requested your FeedTest report will contain the following terminology listed in the below pdf to describe results and parameters tested.
